OK, so most of you know I'm working for an agency at the moment, and I've been having problems getting anyone to give us a mortgage for a house... Well on Thursday, I attended an interview with the company I'm temping with, and on Friday, my boss recieved an e-mail saying they had decided to offer me the job.
From what I gathered today, I will be starting in the next two weeks... Woooo!!!! lol

I've just really started noticing, but why is everyone is such a hurry? Last Wednesday, as I was driving home from work, I was sitting in a traffic jam. The van infront of me decided s/he didn't want to stay in the traffic and u-turned into the opposite lane and drove away. As I was moving forward into his space, the car behind me pulled into the oncoming traffic and zipped infront of me into the space left by the van. I nearly crashed into the side of him (call me crazy, but I really didn't expect anyone to be pulling into that space) He was a single car closer to wherever he was going and the traffic was still stationary..

Then, lastnight as I was driving down the A46 at 11pm-ish. It was so foggy, you could barely even see the white lines on the road right infront of you in some places. But still, it happens. A white van pulled into the oncoming traffic and overtook three cars and an articulated lorry all at once. The 4x4 behind this car also tried to do the same and ended up pulling back in when he nearly drove head first into the oncomming traffic as he hadn't seen (through the fog) a convoy of oncoming traffic.

Where is everyone going in such a hurry that a single car length is worth risking your no-claims for, and overtaking a lorry is worth risking your life for!?!
Jeez, people... Calm down. Are you all really in such a hurry to die?

I've been thinking, wouldn't it be cool if you could spend a whole day, living your life as an operetta?!? Having to sing every word you said... Sounds like fun to me. I've been trying, but I can usually only last a conversation or two, short ones at that, before I hit a bad note and laugh, or forget what I'm trying to do.

I'm goning to pecivere on this though... I will do it, probs at a weekend, though, can't imagine people at work being too impressed if I answer the phone in song!!

Ok, this is just a quick post to wish everyone a happy new year. Rather than send out one of those annoying flash-e-cards, I'm posting here and you can all smile knowing I love you all!! (unless I don't know you, in which case I can't, cos I've never met you to love you. But everyone who comes here from my contact card in MSN, I love you!)

Ok then... I've just spent the last week getting so sick to death of the fact I can't call Christmas 'Christmas' It's not Christmas anymore, we have to be politically correct and call it "Winter Festivities" and they're not Christmas lights, they're "Seasonal Lighting" What bollocks... Like anyone's going to get offended because Christians celebrate their religious festival?

I live in Leicester at the moment, we just celebrated Diwali, Rammadan and Ede (Sorry if I spelled any of those wrong) nobody was offended by that, so why Christmas?

We in England have gone WAY TOO FAR on the politically correctness we seem to dwell in. What's next? Banning the nativity in Schools? Oh, wait, they're already trying to do that... It's got obscene. I was so annoyed with this "you're not allowed to think for yourself anymore, someone might get offended" attitude that we seem to be surrounded by that I went out and bought a wristband from The CPO Website

I'm sick to death of goodie-goodies telling me I'm not allowed to do/say or think this or that because someone might get offended, even though nobody actually does. I was not offended by the Asian-ness of Ede, Diwali and Rammadan, and no doubt, they don't care that we celebrate Christmas. I don't get offended by gay people talking about straight people, or telling jokes about us, and no doubt they don't mind when I do it, too... Obviously things can go too far, but it's stupid to curb the behaviuour of the majority to prevent the actions of a few.
Edit: I just thought I would add... I wonder how many kids got toy guns for Christmas... It's ok go glorify war/killing, but it's not OK to reffer to Jesus in the name of one of our National Holidays... Pathetic!!

I've not used windows for almost 2 months now, aside from playing games. Windows... begone!!!
I've been using ubuntu, as you can probabally guess, but I'm looking at LFS at the moment, too. I'll probs give it a go, once I get around to sorting out a new PC...

Well... It's about time I updated here, isn't it... lol So much for "sometime soon" eh? well, I'm here now, and that's all that matters.

 

So, Where do I start... I guess You know I moved house from my last post, it was MAD! So stressful and Catherine wanted everything sorted straight away, so no relaxing after lugging heavy boxes in from the van oh no!! We spent the following two weeks getting everything sorted, painting the house (we did ask the landlady first, don't worry) and moving furniture about. After that, I started looking for a job again, and again, I couldn't get one, cos I don't have the BPS accreddiatation. So there we go...

 

Then I finally gave up on pyschology, I'm taking the BPS exam in June and psychology can wait until after that. I joined a temp agency and I'm now working for the government. I'm an AO in the Tribunal Service in the Visit Visa section, dealing mostly with appeals for family visit clearence from Pakistan and Nigeria. It's not bad and it pays well, so I'm happy doing that for now.

 

There were so many things I wanted to say but I have forgotten (if I could get on here from work, I would have posted them by now, but I haven't, cos I don't)

 

No doubt I'll remember sometime, hopefully it'll be soon.
